Appointments

This is a new way to consult with a Clinician online - follow this link to submit your request or the traditional way to make an appointment can be done as below:

Consultations are by appointment and can be made in person or over the telephone during opening hours. We make an effort to maintain continuity of care and when possible this will mean seeing the doctor who has been looking after you most recently. Appointments with a GP can also be booked online 24 hours a day, 365 days a year - please see above for details.

When booking an appointment to see a GP, try and book the appointment with a Doctor you have seen in the past or who has been dealing with you care.

Please be aware that if you book an online telephone slot via SystmOnline, the GP may not call you at the specified time you have book, however, it will be during that specified morning or afternoon.

Urgent Appointments

We will always try our best to accommodate those who require an urgent appointment. The receptionist may need to ask you further questions and possibly speak to the duty doctor on your behalf in order to make a same day emergency appointment if there are no more appointments available.  You may be offered a triage slot with one of the Nurse Practitioners.

Practice Nurses

Our practice nurses are available by appointment and can help with minor injuries, dressings, injections, removal of stitches, cervical smears, blood tests, travel vaccinations and dietary advice. They also carry out screening checks, blood pressure checks and teach inhaler techniques to asthmatics. Triage appointments are available with Sister Jill Ellerton on Monday's, Tuesday's and Friday's and with Sister Helen Perkins on Wednesday's and Thursday's.

Telephone Consultations (Greenwood Avenue, Walkergate and Minstergate patients ONLY)

If you feel your problem can be dealt with over the telephone rather than by attending the surgery you may ask for a telephone consultation. A GP will call you back during the day.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. We do offer a text message reminder service so please let us have your number.
